Yemert Terms of Use

Welcome to Yemert. By accessing or using any part of our platform, including our website, USSD system, marketplace, mobile services, and any associated tools, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms of Use.

Please read this document carefully.

1. About Us

Yemert Agritech Solutions Ltd. (“Yemert”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) is a registered social enterprise providing smallholder farmers across Africa with bundled digital solutions:

  • Yemert Secure – affordable crop insurance
  • Yemert Market – a digital marketplace for agricultural produce

Yemert Credits – carbon credit rewards for sustainable farming

2. Eligibility

To use our services:

  • You must be at least 18 years old, or
  • Be authorised by a parent/guardian or cooperative authority
  • You must be a farmer, buyer, or stakeholder in the agricultural value chain

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts of users who violate these terms.

3. Acceptance of Terms

By using Yemert’s services (USSD, web, marketplace, or otherwise), you accept all our terms, policies, and any future updates. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the services immediately.

4. Use of Services

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information when registering
  • Keep your account and credentials secure
  • Use the services only for lawful and intended purposes

You agree not to:

  • Misrepresent yourself or your farm
  • Exploit loopholes in the system
  • Upload or distribute harmful or misleading content
  • Engage in fraud, theft, or abuse of our systems

5. User Accounts

You may be required to create an account to access certain features (e.g. marketplace or agent tools).
 Your USSD ID, phone number, and transaction history are linked to your account.
 You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account

6. Farmer Insurance (Yemert Secure)

Farmers using Yemert Secure agree that:

  • Coverage is only valid after full payment of the premium
  • All claims must be reported within the stated window (7 working days)
  • False claims may lead to suspension and forfeiture of coverage
  • Yemert may partner with licensed insurance providers to underwrite plans

Premiums are subject to change based on risk model updates.

7. Marketplace (Yemert Market)

The marketplace is a digital platform that connects:

  • Farmers (sellers) with
  • Buyers (consumers or bulk purchasers)

You agree that:

  • Yemert is not responsible for the quality of goods delivered
  • Yemert will hold funds in escrow until goods are confirmed
  • Any misuse may result in account suspension
  • Only insured farmers may sell on Yemert Market

8. Carbon Credit (Yemert Credit)

By joining the Yemert Credit program:

  • You commit to sustainable practices verified by us or third parties
  • You must report activities honestly via USSD or our website
  • Rewards are based on your verified contributions to environmental sustainability
  • Payouts are subject to partner verification cycles and international market rates

Yemert does not guarantee fixed earnings from carbon credits.

9. Fees and Payments

  • Users may be charged for insurance, logistics, or service fees.
  • All payments are made through supported mobile money, bank, or direct channels.
  • All sales are final unless otherwise stated in our refund policy.

10. Privacy and Data Protection

  • We take your privacy seriously. Please review our Privacy Policy.

    By using Yemert, you consent to:

    • Collection of your personal data (name, phone number, region, etc.)
    • Use of your data to provide services and improve offerings
    • Sharing with partners when required (e.g. insurers, verifiers, logistic partners)

11. Limitation of Liability

  • Yemert is not liable for:

    • Delays, interruptions, or service downtimes
    • Loss of data, profits, or business due to platform issues
    • Inaccuracies or errors in farmer-submitted content

    Yemert provides the platform “as is,” with no express or implied warranties.

12. Termination

  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any user account:

    • If you breach any terms of use
    • If suspicious, illegal, or abusive behaviour is detected

    You may also delete your account by contacting support.

13. Changes to Terms

Yemert may update these Terms periodically. We will notify you of significant changes via email, SMS, or platform notices.
Continued use of our services after changes implies acceptance.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed and interpreted under the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and any applicable laws in other jurisdictions where we operate.
