Yemert Secure is a crop microinsurance product that protects farmers from losses caused by common farming risks like drought, heavy rain/flooding, pests, crop diseases, and (in higher plans) violent conflict. It helps farmers recover quickly and stay in business when disasters strike.
2. Why do I need insurance as a farmer?
Farming is risky. A single flood or pest invasion can wipe out your entire harvest. Yemert Secure helps you recover by giving you financial support when things go wrong, so your family doesn’t suffer and you can farm again the next season.
3. What risks does Yemert Secure cover?
Yemert Secure currently covers:
- Drought
- Flood
- Pests
- Crop Diseases
➡️ Some premium plans also cover community violence or disruption due to insecurity.
4. What kind of crops are covered?
All common staple and cash crops are covered under Yemert Secure. These include:
- Maize
- Cassava
- Yam

We have different payment options that cover different farm sizes, to fit your pocket, starting from:
- ₦15,000/month or $15/month
- ₦42,000/quarterly
- ₦80,000/biannually
- ₦150,000/yearly
You get full protection throughout the period you pay for.
7. How long does the coverage last?
Depending on your payment plan:
- Monthly plans cover you for 30 days.
- Quarterly plans cover you for up to 90 days (3 months)
- Annual plans protect you for 12 months. Your coverage starts from the day we confirm your payment.
8. How do I make a claim if something happens to my crops?
If your crops are damaged, follow these steps:

9. How long does it take to get paid after making a claim?
Once your claim is approved, you’ll receive your payout via mobile money within 2-3 working days. If you have questions, our agents are available to assist.
10. Will I lose my insurance if I don’t pay on time?
Yes. If your payment is delayed past the due date, your insurance will pause until your next payment is received. Always try to pay on time to stay protected.
11. Do I need a smartphone or internet to use Yemert Secure?
No! All services are available via basic phones using USSD. Just dial *347*168#. No smartphone or data needed.
12. What if I change my number or lose my phone?
Just dial *347*168# from your new number and update your profile. You can also visit your local Yemert agent for help
13. Is Yemert a registered insurance company?
Yemert currently partners with registered insurers to deliver affordable insurance to farmers. We are also working toward getting our own microinsurance license from Nigeria’s NAICOM to serve you directly.
14. Can I cancel my insurance after payment?
We do not offer refunds after activation. However, you can decide not to renew once your plan expires
15. Is my information safe with Yemert?
Yes. We take data privacy seriously and do not share your personal or farm information without your permission.
1. What is Yemert Market?
Yemert Market is an online store where insured farmers can sell their farm produce directly to buyers, including food companies, schools, bulk buyers, and consumers. It’s also where buyers can find clean, traceable crops from trusted local farmers.
2. Why do I need to be insured to use Yemert Market?
Yemert Market is only open to farmers who have an active Yemert Secure insurance plan. This helps:

3. What kind of crops can I sell on Yemert Market?
You can sell any common or local crops you grow, maize, rice, cassava, yam, vegetables, cocoa, plantain, etc. We also support fresh produce and dry goods.
4. How do I sell my produce on Yemert Market?
- Dial *347*168# and choose Yemert Market
- Select “Sell Produce”
- Enter the crop type, quantity (in kg or tonnes), and location
- Your listing goes live!
- Buyers can now contact you directly or through our agents
5. How do buyers find me or my produce?
Buyers can browse the online e-store, see your listing, and send a message. You’ll get an SMS notification. You can also be matched through our agents who connect verified farmers to buyers
6. How much does it cost to list my crops?
Listing is free, but Yemert takes a small service fee (7%) when a successful sale happens. This fee supports payment processing, delivery logistics, and farmer verification.
7. How do I get paid?
You get paid via mobile money or direct bank transfer after the buyer confirms the quality and quantity of your produce. Our agents may also help you if you sell offline
8. Can I list crops from other farmers on my account?
No. Each account is for one insured farmer only. This helps us protect buyers and avoid fraud. If you are a cooperative or group, contact us for bulk registration.
9. What if I don’t have internet?
No problem. You can manage everything by USSD. Just dial *347*168# on your mobile phone (no internet or smartphone needed).
10. Can buyers trust the crops listed?
Yes. Only verified farmers who are part of Yemert Secure can sell. Our agents also do field checks and quality assessments. Buyers receive location, crop info, and contact for every listing
11. What if a buyer does not pay or collects goods and disappears?
We only allow verified prepayment. Farmers are advised not to deliver crops without payment confirmation or agent involvement
12. Can I change my crop price after listing?
Yes, dial *347*168# and choose “Edit Listing.” You can update the price or quantity. But if a buyer has already shown interest at a given price, you must notify them before changing
13. Can buyers visit my farm?
No, but only if necessary we can set it up. Our local agents can help arrange safe farm visits if needed.
14. Is Yemert Market safe for farmers?
Yes. We vet buyers and have secure payment options. We never share your personal data without permission and advise you never to send produce without payment confirmation.
15. Can I sell to buyers in other states or countries?
Yes, but check delivery options and buyer terms. Yemert is expanding fast, and soon you’ll be able to ship produce across Nigeria and into nearby countries through our network.

Yemert Credit is a program that rewards farmers with cash or points when they adopt eco-friendly practices like tree planting, using compost, or reducing chemical use. These activities help capture carbon from the air, and we convert them into carbon credits that we sell to companies interested in sustainability
2. What is a carbon credit?
A carbon credit is like a certificate that shows you helped reduce harmful gases that cause climate change. Companies buy these credits to balance out their emissions. When you farm in a sustainable way, you earn credits we can sell on your behalf, and you get rewarded
3. Why does Yemert reward me for farming practices?
Because you are helping the environment! Farming in a way that protects the soil, reduces emissions, and grows trees helps fight climate change. Yemert wants to put money in your hands while also helping the planet

- Choose “Yemert Credits”
- Select “Join Program”
- Choose your activity: tree planting, composting, reduced tillage, etc.
- You’ll be scheduled for a free training (online or with an agent)
5. What kind of farming activities can earn me credits?

8. How do I withdraw my earnings?
You can convert credits to cash from the USSD menu:
“Convert Credits” → “Withdraw via Mobile Money or Bank Transfer”
✅ Withdrawal available once you reach ₦5,000 or more

9. How is my credit calculated?
We use a simple system:
- For every 20 verified trees, you can earn up to ₦2,000 or more
For compost or other practices, you earn based on frequency and impact
Your total credit depends on:
– Type of activity
– Number or size
– Verification status
– Market price of carbon
10. Do I need a smartphone to join?
No. Everything can be done through USSD on a basic phone, no data, no apps
11. Can I join if I already practice these activities?
Yes, but you need to register and start reporting them via Yemert to get verified. Past activities may not count unless they are verified by our agents.
12. How often can I earn credits?
You can earn multiple times per year, depending on how many sustainable activities you complete and report. For tree planting, earnings grow as the trees grow and survive
13. Can cooperatives or groups join?
Yes! If you’re part of a farmers’ group or cooperative, you can join together. We also provide training and bulk verification for groups.
14. What happens if I stop the activity later?
Your credits are only valid if your activities are ongoing and verified. If trees die or harmful practices are resumed, your earnings may reduce
15. What if someone lies about their activities?
All activities must be verified. Our agents visit farms or check photos. If any farmer is found cheating, they will be removed from the program permanently
16. Will I get proof of my participation?
Yes. Once you register, you receive a Yemert ID and regular updates. You may also receive a carbon certificate after completing a training
17. Can I join Yemert Credits without using other Yemert services?
No. You must first register for Yemert Secure (crop microinsurance) because it verifies your identity and land size. Yemert is a bundled platform, and each service supports the others

5. Can I register for microinsurance and the market at the same time?
Yes, the onboarding flow walks you through Yemert Secure (microinsurance) first. Once that’s active, you’ll gain access to Yemert Market and Credits right after
6. What happens after I register?
